Product Marketing Manager (DC, MD, VA)

We are looking for a smart, well-spoken, organized and passionate product marketer. The right candidate understands and has supported the marketing and sales lifecycle for a SMB software service. The right candidate is both creative and analytical. This position requires close interaction and coordination with Marketing, Sales and Product Management, therefore the right candidate is a cheerleader and diplomat.
Responsibilities
- Develop messaging, positioning, pricing, packaging and go-to-market plans for each of product offerings.
- Collaborate with the Marketing teams to develop and execute integrated awareness and demand generation programs that deliver on key objectives including pipeline growth, revenue, awareness and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct thorough market and competitive analyses to identify market opportunities and threats and ensure winning positioning and competitive tactics.
- Provide market-facing input and requirements to the product teams as a key input to the product roadmap.
- Develop and drive the product launch process.
- Understand and analyze needs of customer base; develop customer case studies; perform win-loss analyses.
- Serve as external evangelist, communicating company and product key messages to external audiences.
- Create sales tools including presentations, datasheets, whitepapers, customer case studies, web site messaging, etc.
- Play an active role in training the sales force through formal and informal means - competitive updates, product refreshes/overviews, new sales training (product/competitive/resources overview)
- Serve as external liaison to relevant activities (industry analysts, live events, webinars)
Experience
- At least three years of software product marketing
- Strong communication and product messaging skills
- Excellent writer
- Self-starter with high levels of initiative, commitment and energy who can galvanize colleagues to follow
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of the sales process; preferably with solution-selling approaches
- Solid understanding of technology
- Public speaking skills are a plus
