Top 10 Reasons You Should Choose Vocus

1. Culture

We put the "fun" in functional. Employees enjoy friendly competition at the ping-pong table, burning off steam and calories in the workout facility and practicing that foul shot in our basketball court. Bring your gym bag because we have showers and a locker room for you to stay fresh. The Oasis Café has an unlimited supply of fountain drinks, coffee and juices. Ample seating is also available so you can get away from the desk to have lunch with friends and co-workers. There is also a big screen television so you can play video games or catch-up on some daytime television viewing.*

2. Open Doors and Ears

Vocus' corporate structure is set with a firm belief that managers should be accessible and responsive to the needs of his or her employees. As a result, employees are better aware of their strengths and are coached to be the best at what they do. Open doors and open ears help to manage tricky situations before they become sticky situations.

3. Integrity

We have a habit of doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do. This belief runs throughout our organization from employee to community to customer. Being honest and upholding high moral standards is the norm at Vocus. When you make integrity a priority, everyone benefits. Aside from that, it just feels right.

4. Customer-Focused

While we strive to take care of our employees, we couldn't stay in business without customers. Keeping the needs of the customer the top priority helps us succeed today and plan for the future. Customer-focused means that we deliver the best products and services in the industry.

5. Field Trips are Always a Good Idea

Quarterly company-wide meetings are held in entertainment venues out of the office and sometimes out of town. These trips provide opportunities to receive corporate updates, meet colleagues in other departments, and get to know co-workers better. Teambuilding and camaraderie are always on the agenda, even they aren't actually on the agenda.

6. It's All About You

The name of this committee says it all: It's all about you! When it comes to patting ourselves on our backs, we use a velvet glove. This committee is responsible for enhancing our work lives by introducing programs that are fun and relaxing. Regularly scheduled activities such as catered breakfast and lunch, on-site happy hours, basketball and ping pong tournaments and group Yoga classes are complemented by large scale events like a night out at the ballgame or a luau party with an executive dunk tank. These activities remind employees that our success is a direct result of their hard work. It is all about you!

7. It's Not All About You

Our focus shifts from the employees to the community through an initiative that encourages our employees to give back to the communities in which we live and work. Charities are selected by employees so a broad range of causes benefit from our involvement. From toy and blood drives to charity walks and races, there is an activity that suits everyone. Over the past years, we have participated in Golf for Hope for Brain Cancer Research, the Howard County Autism Society Annual Pieces of the Puzzle Gala and the Butch Sullivan Memorial Golf Tournament.
