Assistant Controller:

(Located at corporate office in Lanham, Maryland)

 

We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our very dynamic team. Overall responsibilities include management of the daily accounting operations worldwide with a significant focus on international expansion. RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Responsible for running the daily financial and accounting functions worldwide
  • Manage global financial and accounting operations to provide efficient and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financials to include p erforming monthly financial consolidation for worldwide operations
  • Coordinate timing, strategy and preparation of all global financial audits and quarterly reviews
  • Assist in developing and implementing an effective international tax strategy
  • Develop highly qualified financial/accounting managers by encouraging and counseling in areas that will enhance present performance or will prepare for advancement
  • Motivate, direct, mentor and lead a highly effective team
  • Work closely with the external independent auditors
  • Maintain and update company policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality performance by adopting a customer-based philosophy in level of service provided
  • Communicate fully with supervisors, subordinates and others who have a need to know

EXPERIENCE: 

  • CPA with BA/BS Degree in Accounting from an accredited university/college
  • Minimum of 10 years accounting experience
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience with a US GAAP based company
  • Big Four public accounting experience preferred
  • International/global finance/tax and accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP reporting and FASB requirements
  • Management experience as an Assistant/Group/Divisional Controller
  • Consistent record of achievement and advancement
  • Proven ability to manage and direct the work of subordinates
  • Excellent computer skills – must know MS Office products
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
